Poem Response
what is interesting? what do you think is happening? what are some lines or phrases that sound nice or capture your attention? what is the feel or emotion of the poems?
Poem 1: In this poem i think the author is trying to teach us resolutions to our problems in life and it gave us advice. “Concentrate on living hour by hour as if you were feeding coins into a meter measuring your life. Here is this hour, and you have already paid for it.” The feel of the poem is preaching.
Poem 2: In poem two I think the author is trying to explain the meaning of a poem but also trying to teach you that poems can be anything. I thought this line was interesting “I say drop a mouse into a poem and watch him probe his way out” because it is very descriptive. The feel of the poem is maybe preaching?

Monologue Ryan Purdy

I think I did well with the loudness of my voice. I need to work on not swaying and show more emotion. On my retake I felt that sitting down helped a lot with my nervousness and stopped the swaying. I noticed that Medgar, Amy, and Tony really showed a lot of emotion and I think it made their performances much more serious and very strong. As a class I think we need to work more on performing on front of each other, we are still very nervous.

Object Monologue
Ryan Purdy
I am a surfboard. I can be five feet long or twelve feet long and any color you can imagine. I can be made out of foam, fiberglass, plastic, or acrylic. Sometimes I can have a really sharp point and sometimes it can be very round. I usually live near the beach and I love the ocean. I don’t move unless my owner takes me surfing. I usually have 3 or 4 fins on the bottom of me, and they help my owner stay balanced. When I’m in the ocean I like to barrel the waves and carve up and down them. Sometimes I get tossed around by the waves but I float so I never really get hurt or drown. My favorite season is summer because I go to the ocean the most during the summer.
